This Classic Smart Kitchen is a Dream Come True

Lucky owners of this classic smart kitchen is a big family of seven. Conceived by , it’s one of the most unique designs we’ve ever seen. Interior designer Kerri Brown was kind enough to share with us her inspiration for the design that, believe it or not, was more function-driven, taking into consideration the amount and nature of family’s activity in the area.

Since parents are busy people, a smart  was implemented to make things easier. The system allows full control of the kitchen’s lights, audio, blinds, security, and more. It also provides a video feed, showing what kids are up to. Thanks to the smart technology and technology integrator Luke Whatcott of , the kitchen does not only have all these functions but also looks impeccable with not a single cord in sight.

Before smart technology, we used to have to work with multiple thermostats and light switches in the design process, but ELAN combines all of these functions into one sleek touch panel, which is much easier to work with,” says Brown.

The barreled, walnut stained-wood ceiling is certainly the main focus of this classic smart kitchen. Built specifically for the room, it promotes a sense of grandeur in a highly functional space. Custom S&J in Designer White are embodied sophistication, while teal “Watery” Sherman Williams kitchen islands are a nod to mom’s favorite color. Countertops made of Silestone quartz with grey and white platinum play well into the grand design as does the hood in Venetian Plaster. Finally, a Million Dollar Baby tile puts a finishing touch on the picture. And with a name like that, it’s no wonder it’s the most expensive tile in the house.

Lighting is another great feature in the kitchen. First off, there’s plenty of daylight coming from an adjoined dining room that sits next to a wall of windows. Then there are built-in ceiling lights that go inside the cabinets, and provide the room with general lighting. Two crystal chandeliers both decorate and lend more light to each of the kitchen islands.

If you want to build a functional, smart kitchen, there is no need to go for minimalist contemporary style. Here is an incredible example of how to marry homey and classic style with cutting-edge technology.
