have worked their architectural wizardry on the Hoddle House remodel in Elsternwick, Australia and it turned out interestingly. The grey brick structure with a sloping roof features odd wide-framed windows and several window-like entrances creating an indoor/outdoor feel in each room.
The living areas are extending outdoors with a wooden deck that hovers over the green backyard lawn. And while it looks simple there are some truly unexpected details hidden within the design.
Inside, the structure houses the modern white interiors with an open plan living/kitchen/dining room. While the open layout plays to the spaciousness of the house the long curtains and sliding doors allow to divide the rooms and help increase privacy.
The light wooden floors and window frames work great with the house’s clean aesthetic amplifying the natural light. In the bathroom the grey stone seems to echo the house exterior but it also features a wooden accent in a form of a floating vanity.
A sloping roof makes its impact on the interior architecture but it doesn’t seem to make the rooms look small or dark. Due to the sliding glass doors and windows of various sizes there’s plenty of room, at least visually.
Finally, the decor is quite minimal with just a few statement accents, which is a great option for a family home. Clean and functional, it takes advantage of the natural light and makes for an attractive look that will last for years.
